Ingredients:
1 lb ground beef
1/2 cup breadcrumbs
1/4 cup finely chopped onion
1 egg
1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
1 teaspoon garlic powder
Salt and pepper to taste
2 tablespoons olive oil
1 onion, thinly sliced
8 oz mushrooms, sliced
2 cups beef broth
2 tablespoons all-purpose flour
Chopped fresh parsley for garnish
Directions:
In a large mixing bowl, combine ground beef, breadcrumbs, finely chopped onion, egg, Worcestershire sauce, garlic powder, salt, and pepper. Mix until well combined.
Shape the mixture into oval-shaped patties, about 1/2 inch thick.
Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add the beef patties and cook for 4-5 minutes on each side, until browned. Remove from the skillet and set aside.
In the same skillet, add thinly sliced onion and sliced mushrooms. Cook until onions are soft and mushrooms are browned, about 5-7 minutes.
Sprinkle flour over the onions and mushrooms in the skillet. Cook for 1-2 minutes, stirring constantly.
Gradually pour in beef broth, stirring constantly to prevent lumps from forming. Cook until the sauce thickens, about 3-5 minutes.
Return the beef patties to the skillet, spooning some of the sauce over the top.
Reduce heat to low, cover, and simmer for 10-15 minutes, until the beef patties are cooked through.
Garnish with chopped fresh parsley before serving.
